Fall time Festivities

This fall season was such a fun time. A few of our traditions were left out this year like carving pumpkins, making caramel apples and baking pumpkin shaped sugar cookies. However we did get to adventure a few new activities that were worth it.

I started off by attending Witches night out with a few close friends. We had fun dressing up as witches, shopping at all the cute boutiques, and ended our night with lots of dancing. So much Fun!

Then Ed's Mom came to visit for three weeks and his dad came for the last two weeks. It was the perfect time of year for them, living in Louisiana they do not get to experience the fall or winter season like we do here. They were able to see the leaves changing and enjoy a little bit of snow also. I know that I take for granted the beautiful place that we live in all the time, it's great to be reminded.

One of our fall traditions that we never miss is right here in good old Santaquin. We head down to the Red Barn and enjoy a hay ride that takes us to the pumpkin patch to pick that perfect pumpkin. For some reason our family doesn't leave a pumpkin unturned, why we're so picky, I don't know? After we find the one we head back to get an awesome treat back at the barn.

We also went to Gardner Village. The kids had their faces painted and they got to ride the ponies.

School's Back

Bronson
Bronson started third grade this year, his teacher is Mrs Dahl. She seems to be fairly nice. I just hope she has the kindness and patience that Bronson needs. He does have glasses this year which should make a difference seeing the board. We found out by him putting on my glasses and saying he was shocked that he could see everything so clearly. Then he later informed us that he could never really see the board during second grade.I have no idea why he waited so long to give us that little piece of info.

Zoe
Zoe started Kindergarten a week later, her teacher is Mrs.Escarra. She was really ready to go and it was hard for her to have to wait that whole week. She loves learning and homework, we'll just have to see how long that lasts. After the two and a half hours was up I went back to pick her up and she was standing in the bus line waving at me as if I went there just to see her get on the bus. I told her that she has to come with me, she shook her head and said no I am riding the bus. I guess the bus seems knew and exciting.

The second day I could not find her when I went to pick her up. So I climbed up on the bus and there she was sitting there ready to go. Both her teacher and I had a talk with her and I think she finally understands that the bus will not bring her home.

Fe fi fo.

Zoe loves singing the song where you place the F in front of someone's name. We were outside on the grass and she was sing away:
Zoe baboee fe fi fo foee, Zoe
Daddy babadee fe fi fo faddy, daddy
Chuck bo buck fe fi fo f**k,Chuck

We instantly told her that she was not allowed to do that name and that it make you say a bad word, she was totally clueless. Then Bronson pipes up and says, F**k what wrong with that word. I told him that it is the mother of all bad word and not to say it again.

It's kind of nice having my kids still be so innocent.

Let's get hairy!

I have had to learn to be extremely frugal and cautious of what I buy and how I spend my money this year. It's tough to cut back but it's not always that bad. I used to buy my shampoo and conditioner from solons or from a professional hair store. Then I started to get my hair products from Sally's, of which I was not always impressed with. These last couple of weeks were really tight on money so I resorted to Wal-Mart and bought almost the cheapest product they sell which was Suave but upgraded to the new Suave Professionals (Sleek) shampoo and conditioner. Let me just say I have been super impressed with the product, I can't remember the last time my hair felt this soft and smooth and for a $1.98 a bottle you can't go wrong. The commercial was actually telling the truth this time:)

Baptism

Bronson was baptized on Saturday the 9th of this month. We are so proud of the decision that he made. living here in Utah baptisms can become over congested and can sometimes feel not quite as special. Bronson's ended up being quiet the contrary. There were to be five children from our ward that were to be baptized on the same day, two boys and three girls. the girls decided that they wanted to be together so that left the Bronson and another young boy. The week of the baptism we found out that the other boy decided to hold off for a little while so that left Bronson by himself. Let's just say I wasn't complaining in the least bit. We had the whole program to ourselves. The talks by Taylor and Grandma Allyson were awesome and the spirit was incredible. I am so lucky to have a wonderful son and a worthy husband. It was a great day to share with family and friends.

Sick of Sickness!

We have all been sick for the past 2 weeks. First Ed had it ( he would say that he was the most sick and that's why he could not get out of bed for 3 1/2 days straight). Then little Ella got sick and is still coughing a week and a half later. Zoe was down for only a day, I think she must of healed fast  because she slept pretty much the entire day and through the night. Then it was my turn, I guess I didn't want to miss out on all fun. I thought it would be my turn just to stay in bed and not have to worry about anyone else, I  was wrong. Ed had to go back to work the day that I got sick. I did try to stay in bed but all moms probably know how well that goes. Bronson  is the last one and will most likely be staying home today from school. Oh I guess sometimes I just miss being a kid and not having any worries but myself and having a mother that takes care of me.

Sock buddies!

I saw this really cute idea on Martha Stewart's website. They had made these really cute sock creatures out of fun socks. So I went out on a sock hunt and found ones that were cute and super soft and cuddly. They were pretty easy to stuff and hand stitch together and my kids adore them.
